The city of Kelowna can be both a pleasure and bummer to bicycle around.
From amazing East Kelowna and Ellison Sunday morning rides to whipping by deer on Knox Mtn. road. From glass in the bike lane to lanes disappearing altogether.
If you have been out on your bike lately you know that with our weather we should all be riding! In reality it can be a major challenge with the incomplete on-road and off-road bike access. Not to mention the traffic.
I am a member of the Kelowna Area Cycling Coalition and our group is looking for input on our ideas and on what you see out there. We will be better informed when meeting with city staff and others can chime in what is being said.
Who knows maybe we can make Kelowna bike-friendly. And by definition families with children will take to the road, morning rush hour is the wind through your helmet, an off-road bike path will connect the main cores of Kelowna and hook into a Central Okanagan recreation corridor and of course we can all contribute to getting healthy, cleaning the air and meeting Kyoto.
