Here is your official invite to our next meeting Thursday Dec 4th, 2008 at 4pm!

The location will be the Bean Scene on Bernard.

The following is the ‘plan’ for that meeting done up by Tony and John!

Hope to see you there.

Kelowna and Area Cycling Coalition Planning Session
At the last meeting of the Kelowna and Area Cycling Coalition (KACC)
on November 6, 2008, it was agreed that the next Coalition meeting, to
be held between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM on December 4, 2008 at the Bean
Scene on Bernard would be dedicated to planning the future
responsibilities and structure of the Kelowna Group.  The meeting will
be split into two parts:
1).  4:00 PM to 5:00 PM – A workshop to identify the key areas of work
for the future coalition through the identification of current issues.
Issues will be grouped into priority areas for the future coaltion to
action.  Areas may include, but are not limited to; advocacy; media
& communications; safety; KACC membership; volunteer activity and
community events; and, regional linkages.  Please bring those moans
and concerns and we’ll try and turn them into positives!
2).  5:00 PM to 6:00 PM –  This part of the meeting will address how
we should be structured as an organization from now on: do we wish to
become an official ‘chapter’ of the British Columbia Cycle Coalition;
do we wish to become an NGO; do we wish to implement membership fees;
and, do we need to set up an executive with specific responsibilties.
The success of the meeting and future direction of the KACC is
dependant on your contribution and I encourage everybody who is able
to attend to come along to offer your thoughts, help define our group,
ensure the interests of the cycling community in Kelowna are
represented and that we represent you.
Thank you for your ongoing support for the Kelowna and Area Cycling
Coalition and I look forward to seeing you at the next meeting.
